This Portland, Oregon band’s debut album, 'The Glass Masses' features elaborately structured songs with rich harmonies and dramatic hooks. 'Even Matter' opens the album with what pianist, Jon Hicks, describes as "a jubilant 'A-ha!' moment born from a nihilistic dream," asking 'Does it even matter?' in choral harmonies that are both plaintive and hopeful, with starry guitar and synth imparting a sense of triumph and resilience that is sustained throughout the album. Jon and guitarist, Ben Weyerhaeuser, met and decided to form the band while singing together in school choirs. Their twinned vocals are a key element of the band's sound, adding depth and showmanship to their songs."
