Robin Renée’s kirtan concerts find new and traditional sounds to evoke stillness, bliss, and a sense of Oneness with All. Already a longtime songwriter and performer, in 2001 Robin found herself in the midst of a spiritual deepening that brought with it her blossoming into the fusion of music and spirit. She has since shared the stage with some of the world’s best-loved kirtan singers including Krishna Das, Girish, Wynne Paris, and Dave Stringer. This. (2012) features call-and-response chanting, soulful voices, and a rich soundscape of organic instrumentation blended seamlessly with light, heart-opening electronic ambience. The bright “Keshava” and upbeat “Kali Ma Potluck Singalong” are live kirtan favorites. Here, they join the traditional melody “Jaya Jaya Shiva Shambho,” beautifully simple “Blessed Be, Namaste,” and others – This. is music for meditation, movement, deep listening, and singing along. Its follow-up, .. and Everything Else (singer-songwriter genre) will bring a full-circle view of conscious growth through life’s complexities, and is anticipated in 2013. Live Devotion (2007) was Robin Renée's first recording dedicated wholly to sacred chant. Borne of one inspired recording session in October 2006, the seven long tracks evoke peace, passion, and the presence of Universal Love. With the rock feel of "Jai Ma" to the more traditional "Sita Ram" to the fun, multi-part "Om Shanti Krishna," Live Devotion is a fresh take on an ancient tradition. All seven long tracks are songs to evoke joy, stillness, dance, insight, tears, expansion, and connection. Songs including “I’m Coming Down” and “Holy River” from All Six Senses (2002), foreshadowed these straight-to-the-soul recordings with their stories of cosmic transformation. It followed In Progress (2000), Renée's first full-length CD offering. The sum of Renée's accessible tunes with a spiritual twist have forged her own genre - Mantra-Pop - and its development can be heard across her always engaging and evocative spirit songs.
