Heibarger only played two songs, but each was epic. To call Heibarger a simple stoner metal band in the vein of Fu Manchu, Kyuss and Nebula would undermine their creativity. When seeing Heibarger play, it is nigh impossible not to form a mental picture of their music. Their heavy grooves, stomping drums and piercing leads painted a picture of a hellish, plague-stricken wasteland, not a simple peyote-trip desert with some swirling colors and freaky shadows. No, this desert was nearly pitch black, lit only by red, spiraling stars and a greedy vampire moon. The sand itself melted and whrilpooled, just as molten and unpredictable as Heibarger's changing tempos, fuzzed-out riffs and sparse vocals (peppered with birdcalls, no less). A blues lick slid into thirty seconds of thrash and it seemed completely natural, and completely nightmarish, all in the best possible way.
