When the community center was built 60 years ago as a city hall then, mini vendor vans were roaming on the Takano-kaido now and then, selling sweet potatoes to the civil servants to fulfill their appetite. The loudspeakers always repeated the word Ishi-yakiimo in a high singing tone to attract neighbors. It was a symbol of peaceful daily life in Japan. Six decades later, the scene has changed somewhat, but we still recognize the tone. I want you to listen with that image in mind. "Yakiimo"
