This set of songs focuses on well-known musicians and theorists from ancient and medieval periods. Many fascinating musical developments occurred over the stretch of those years. Although the subject matter is interesting and engaging, it can be particularly challenging to remember many of the details as presented in a music history course. I set out to write these songs as supplemental material for study. Simplicity and brevity keep each song focused on the main points; they are like encyclopedia entries accompanied by music. Formerly titled, "r2fifty2," this album started as a weekly song project in 2013.
