The guitar was his inseparable companion until the drum kit lured him into a torrid love affair with the world of percussion. His masterly performances -some have even used the word genius when describing him- attest the fact that his romance is still as fresh today as at its outset. Carlos has played in concerts and recordings for the most respected voices of the continent. Backhome in Mexico, he is considered to be the one of the best exponents of this genre. His first prominent job on the International scene was with bassist Jaco Pastorius, one of the most outstanding musicians in history of jazz. With Pastorius, Carlos produced El Universo es mi Casa, which sold thousands of copies worldwide, thanks to the backing of DIW Records,of Japan, and brought him to the international market back in 1989. Carlos’ most recent release, Descubriendo mi Universo (Discovering my Universe) , features such luminas as Michael Urbaniak, Al McDowell and Piro Rodríguez.
