From the mind of Clifford John (a.k.a Dead Peasant) comes his latest dark and techy cut in the form of "G.U.A.D" under his new moniker "Old Boy". The original mix that he delivers here has a definite dark and driven quality to it while still maintaining the relentless pace that he is known for. After all, with a lyric that insists that you "Get Up And Dance", would you expect any less? First up on the excellent remix package is fellow Canadian and FTC stable-mate Afreakwent who gives things a wonderfuly melodic and progressive twist while still retaining the energy and urgency that the original track had. The Seki remix takes things in a totally different direction with its skippy percussion and pulsating and dubstep influenced bassline and gritty sounds throughout. Definitely one for the more edgy floors. Tyler Johnson also returns to the FTC camp with his take on things and moves the track into yet another area with a twistedly funky bassline that rolls along and underpins his percussive twists and edits. Finally we have the Drew Moon remix which combines tribal and dancehall influenced percussion with synth stabs reminiscent of the anthemic "French Kiss" and some cheeky little latin influnced piano riffs and a gritty and choppy bassline. All in all an awesome package and one which has a great vatiery of mixes to suit every dancefloor.
