The music is what is important here. Ultramagg self-consciously shuffles into the Great War for your attention armed only with their incredible songwriting, and a preternatural ability to perform it. Their music is in constant danger of being lost in the howling winds of image and hype, mostly because these guys don't have a telegenic bone in their bodies. You would be challenged to notice any of these four guys in a party of eight people. Brothers Jason and Mikell might get your attention if they were drunk, but they aren't drinking at the moment. Buck might entertain you if he's not grooving on some gadget, and Nathan tends to talk in his own code constructed of far-suburb, frat-boy sports-fan-speak, spiced with MTV Jams hip hop-isms. So screw'em - as individuals they're just not important. As the band Ultramagg, however, they are writing and playing some of the most rocking and poignant songs I have ever heard.
