NEW PROJECT FUNK ORCHESTRA Facing new research spaces and confronting itself with different artistic experiences is what the orchestra has always wanted to be. Open and able to involve the curiosity of musicians coming from the classical and the jazz field, it has grown as a creative workshop, talking with the cultures from all over the world. The New Project Orchestra was born in Trento in 1984 and is a big-band formed by twenty musicians. Starting from didactical intents, it has developed during the years and has become an excellent and multifaceted formation which gather high level musicians. The orchestra has collaborated with famous artists like: Lee Konitz, Florian Brambock, Bruno De Filippi, Renato Geremia, Rudy Migliardi, Irene Oliver, Javier Girotto and with famous italian actors like: Enzo Decaro, Paolo Valerio, Antonio Zanoletti and Arnoldo Foà. The New Project Orchestra recorded the following CDs: “Across the Beatles’Universe”, “Onde Mediterranee”, “New Project Jazz Orchestra Here Comes”, attached to the musical magazine “Audiophile Sound”, “La natura dell’amore” with the acting voice by one of the most famous Italian theatre actor Arnoldo Foà, “Se potessi avere…”, “Canzoni dipinte di Jazz”, “Walkin’ with Jeru”. The orchestra has performed in numerous jazz festivals both in Italy and abroad: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Hungary and in the last years in Spain (San Sebastian, Ezcaray, Barcellona, Lleida e Valencia) obtaining a huge success both from public and critics. Many musical reviews have positively written about the orchestra:“Musica Jazz”,” Jazz-It”, “Ritmo”, “Fedeltà del suono”, “Audiophile sound”, “Basimedia Magazine”, “Cuadernos de jazz”, ”Espetaculos”, “La Vanguardia”, “Jazz Hot”, “Egin Kultura”, “El Diario Vasco”, “ABC”, “El Mundo”. MARCO PIEROBON First prize in international competitions of Passau (Germany), Imperia and Aqui Terme, Marco Pierobon has been for almost ten years “Principal Trumpet” of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra – Florence (1999-2002 under Zubin Mehta) and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia Orchestra – Rome (2003-2008 under Antonio Pappano), and has collaborated as “Principal Trumpet” with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (Daniel Barenboim) and the Filarmonica della Scala Orchestra. He has performed as soloist with the orchestras of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, English Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Kammerkonzert, I virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala, Max-Plank-Philharmonie München, Junge Philharmonie Salzburg, Marchigiana Philharmonic, with the orchestras of Mantua, Bolzano, Vicenza, in addition to the Marche wind orchestra and the State Police Military Wind Band. In this capacity he has worked, among others, with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Isaac Karabtchevsky, Etienne Siebens, Friedrich Heider, Guenther Neuhold, Ralph Gothoni in Japan, China, Europe and USA. In 2011 Marco was featured in a solo tour of Argentina, played with the Mar del Plata and Tucuman symphony Orchestras, held a recital in Buenos Aires and masterclasses in three different universities. Marco Pierobon has reliesed a CD for Accademia2008, called “SoLo”, with the Orchestra di Fiati delle Marche conducted by Michele Mangani. The cd was commented by Roger Bobo, brass legend, as “wonderful modern trumpet playing, full of musicality”. He has published a didactic DVD about brass instruments. He held Master Classes in USA, Canada, England, Greece, Germany and Austria, besides for several Italian Festivals and Academies. He has recorded for Sony and Emi with the Accadeia di S.Cecilia (Rome) Orchestra under the direction of Antonio Pappano. With the GomalanBrass Quintet he has performed throughout Europe, Asia and America, and published four cds and one DVD for Summit Records and Naxos. Since 2007 he is trumpet professor at the Conservatories of Bolzano and Reggio Emilia, Italy. Marco Pierobon is Yamaha Performing Artist and Wedge Mouthpiece Endorsing Artist. He plays exclusively on Yamaha instruments and Wedge mouthpieces. He currently lives in the countryside near Parma with his wife Francesca, violinist and music teacher, two sons, Biagio and Amelia, and two dogs, Gilda and Otello.
