简介
Here is a review made by the Hungarian webzine Vaskarc that well describes this album: "Helder Oliveira is a multi-instrumental Portuguese composer and a Neo-Classic shred guitarist. He started to seriously play the guitar in the age of eighteen under the influences of the oversea bands like Megadeth, Metallica and Nevermore. Between 2006 and 2007 he lived in Switzerland where he started to compose music and now Helder released his first project which was self published without any help from sponsors or publishers. He played all the instruments on the album called For Eternity and without any doubts he completed the job flawlessly playing all the instruments by himself. All of the instruments sound perfect under the hands of Helder but the best part of the project is surely the crystal clear guitar playing. Considering the fact that this album is a solo instrumental guitar album it is understandable that the marginal instruments like the drums did not get the full attention but our hero did a great job playing the guitar utilizing neoclassic style, unbelievable solos, lyrical sentimentality, Latin tunes and sensitivity, and of course with the help of arpeggio machine. It is not rare to see that these kind of solo instrumental albums become some kind of musical `` masturbation `` at the end, I was very happy to see that Helder made the compositions very compact and with proper lyrics they could easily find themselves on albums like Magic Kingdom, Iron Mask and Adagio.... Helder`s guitar playing style is absolutely versatile not only in emotional, slowly evolving songs but also in wind speed, almost trash metal and power metal songs. The ambitious, emotional, Latin tunes are performed well, evenly with the hundred notes/second Virgos and I really don`t know how the Italian, Portuguese and Spanish guitarists learn this high degree of melodic sensitivity. If it`s because of the air quality in these countries I suspect that a couple of musicians deserve a vacation in these countries with European Union support maybe... I think everybody can guess the main Helder’s inspirations who were great neo-classical players of their time like Marty Friedman or Jeff Loomis, and their influence can be greatly heard in the solo parts but that is the proof of quality. Malmsteen released his latest project and it surely sounds like it was made for private audience only, For Eternity is much better, suitable for every guitar fan. In my opinion every guitar fan can find something interesting and enjoyable on this release. Helder is not exaggerating, he precisely knows what it takes to keep track of the songs so, guitar oriented audience will find For Eternity a must hear release! The only problem with the release is the legal procurement... Evaluation: 9/10 Author: Fehér Balázs"
