A 1988 trip to Central America fostered a musical exchange between one of the world's most melodically sophisticated musical genres, Celtic music, and one of the world seats of rhythm, the Caribbean. Caribe is the name of the Native American tribe for which the Caribbean region and this recording are named. This CD mixes soulful Celtic songs and hot Caribbean rhythms on hammered and fretted dulcimers, vocals, guitar, marimba, congas, and synthesizer.
