Within the Author’s (JW) life Product of Detroit is proof to himself that he is capable of accomplishing something on his own initiative experience and at his own pace. We may all have a range of talents or gifts to share with others, our community and maybe to share with the world. Everyone will not like your product or talent but for those that do you may make a positive difference for them. Some people may be sitting on a talent or gift that should be shared with others while they are able to share. Some have expressed aspiration to explore their hidden talent stimulated by reading Product of Detroit. The definition of muse is included. JW had no use for the word previously. It was brought to JW's attention that maybe he had gotten in touch with his muse. [Muse: the spirit that is thought to inspire a poet or other artist; source of genius or inspiration] Could a genius actually be the help of a spirit or spirits? Under JW's muse one song led to another, over a two week period JW had completed eight tracks of an album. JW wrote song after song and narrowed it down to the eight tracks on the album. JW recorded song beats repetitiously, by humming. JW singed on top of the recorded repetitious beat, or let’s say JW sung as the beat played in the background. JW just found out July 2007 from FM 107.5, Mason Radio from Detroit that James Brown also hummed out his beats for the band. Of course these days, sounds are simulated through the computer which is much cheaper than a band. The technique is similar to the computer drafting where you have layers of information for each type of building equipment. In the music recording studio instrument sounds are applied one at a time for each instrument simulation. A monitor is used to view the sound patterns of each instrument and voice. The recording equipment has the capability to copy a pattern or signal of sound and it can be copied and pasted into another portion of the sound track. This gives a lot of latitude for improvising and creativity. In addition the speed can be adjusted and echoing can be introduced. The recording person has lots of control over the finished product. With fancy recording what does one do, when it is time to perform live? JW noticed at some concerts the performers attempt to encourage the audience to sing, which may be a cover-up for not being unable to produce the studio quality and affect. JW think most people want to hear the song just the way it sounded on the album. Anyway, JW practice each song before going to the recording studio, except for my last song “Nope to Dope”. This song was a bonus free song, JW wrote the song right on the spot using rhyming words with the word d**e. JW was singing the song within minutes of completing the lyrics. JW was stomping my feet in the recording booth to the beat with military type boots. We stopped recording for me to remove my boots because of sound inference. At that transition point JW prayed to be effective with in delivering a strong rendering of “Nope to Dope”. After JW finished performing the song JW felt drained; physically weak. As they played the song back, they where saying “that’s you”, “that’s you singing”. JW just sat there outside the control room shaking and feeling outside of myself. It was as though JW had become someone else, or someone had taken over my body for that performance. JW don’t want to sound spooky but that is the truth of how it went down. JW mostly pray for guidance and that is not often. JW don’t knock nobody’s relationship with God, but JW believe God is like a father that wants you to do as much as you can on your own. Hold up, JW was stopping to play “Nope to Dope” before JW close out on this section. JW will be right back, Yep, it is JW alright and JW really want everybody JW included to be free of drugs because it is “a plan by the man to keep you in a can”. Either JW had help or was previously fearful to let loose,JW don’t know but that was JW's last time at the recording studio. JW tried to arrange for more recording sections but they didn’t return my calls. Most of their clients are hip hop and rappers, my songs may be considered jazz, it could be that when things are different people in general will go for familiar when there are other options. Being broke is not an option and timing is everything. JW may have served their purpose in a time of financial need as well as they had served my purpose at that point in time. JW brought food and drinks for one big party for some of JW's performances at the recording studio. Two songs were recorded at each session. The actual recording took place in a matter of minutes, and my studio recording time was the length of the song. There were no retakes in my vocal performance. JW sang every song without error. Well, practice has a definite advantage. So, practice on the karaoke machine and then take your a** to the recording studio. Get your own material to avoid infringing on copyright protected material. Who knows, if you have talent and are entertaining you may be discovered. As they say don’t quit your day job a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush. Best wishes if you try it. If nothing else it can be a conversation piece or something for your grand children to checkout. The going studio hourly rate in 2006 was between $50 and $100. For sure get yourself together before going to the studio and save yourself some money. Don’t tell anybody that JW told you about this okay? JW fell in love last night with Erykah Badu. It was just the inspiration JW needed to complete the ready for the public version of "Product of Detroit"; the product is considered a United States Patent and its Producer. Once JW is on the Oprah show JW will confess my love for Erykah (Smile). JW was at Chene Park in Detroit Friday August 3, 2007 that night Erykah Badu had all the moves and vocals captivating the audience to a point of fascination, mesmerization, and almost ejaculation. The aisle ways were filled with people from the lawn area that walked down to be closer to the stage. JW couldn’t keep his eyes off of her; JW didn’t want to blink out of fear of missing one of her dance moves. JW felt like a school boy once again. JW felt energized, fortified and it was another great day to be alive. JW had been in a writing slump but after that show,JW started back to writing out of love for Erykah Badu. Completing this project may give me an opportunity to at least meet Erykah Badu. Maybe this sounds silly but that’s what love can do. Now Erykah Badu is the theme and focus that JW used to inspire him to quit playing and wrap this project up. JW want to be a star also in my field of endeavors. It is the JW’s (Author) intent to promote the use of his invention in an informative and entertaining manner. The reader is given some inner thoughts from the author within sections “A” through “E” of Product of Detroit the book, which is an expression of the author’s passion determination and methods. The author’s intent is to make a positive contribution to society. Yes, the author wants to show the world a technique to save energy, he also wants you to have some fun with other items in Product of Detroit the book.
