简介
Jeffrey Sutton Frederick, always enjoyed a faithful following wherever he played. Jeffrey has left us, but his music lives on and his material is still covered by the Freak Mountain Ramblers, the legendary folk singer Michael Hurley, Bingo, Ekoostik Hookah, James Low, and many more. Jeffrey is best known for his band the Clamtones. The folk classic "Have Moicy" a three-day collaboration between Jeffrey and his Clamtones, with Michael Hurley and Peter Stampfel's Unholy Modal Rounders was acclaimed by Robert Christeau, of the Village Voice, the best LP of 1976. Rolling Stone included "Have Moicy" in its top 30 albums of the 70's. Jeffrey Frederick & the Clamtones released an album of Jeffrey's original tunes,"Spiders in the Moonlight" in 1976 on Rounder Record label. Jeffrey was once again featured on the "I Make A Wish for A Potato", The Holy Modal Rounders and Friends, was released in 2001, by Rounder Records. This was the first album released by Frederick Productions, fulfilling his widow, Kathryn's promise to care for his music. And the vaults are still open... Jeffrey left behind hundreds of songs, more than a lot of great memories and outrageous stories of his antics. This CD showcases Jeffrey's post-Clamtones Nevada band, The Jeffrey Frederick Band. It was recorded in Reno during the winter of1991. Songs include several standards from the Clamtone days as well as some of Jeffrey's favorites such as "Mind Your Own Business" by Hank Williams arranged by Jeffrey, and his original all-time classic, "Let Me Down". If you enjoy a strong rich voice, great musicianship, and lyrics that will delight the senses with humor, this CD is for you.
