One of the busiest drummers of the Jazz/Fusion area in Italy. Davide’s drumming is a combination of taste, sensibility, highly technical skills in different musical areas and genres with a deep, authentic knowledge of musical languages. Today, he is part of some of the most interesting ensembles around. Recording and performances with: 25 Hours, Carolina Brandes' OMP, Umberto Fiorentino, Danilo Rea, Ritchie Evans, Francesco Bruno, Antonello Salis, Rino Zurzolo, Hilton Ruiz, Fabio Morgera, Javier Girotto, Marc Copland, Andy Gravish, Stefano D’Anna, Salvatore Bonafede, James Senese, Michel Audissò, Daniele Sepe, Orchestra Nazionale Italiana di Jazz, Tankio Band, Dario De Idda, Riccardo Zappa, Riccardo Biseo, Omar Lopez Valle, Andrea Braido, Massimo Moriconi, Cinzia Spata, Sandro Satta, Riccardo Fassi, Pippo Matino, Giovanni Amato, Pino Iodice, Roberto Ciotti, Sandro De Idda, Stefano Sabatini, Marco Siniscalco, Alessandro Gwis, Aldo Bassi, Massimo Pirone, Corvini bros. In pop music with: Pino Daniele, Amii Stewart, Laura Pausini, Ennio Rega, Calimma, ect. He has also appeared in lots of TV shows. As a leader, Davide recorded two solo cd’s: in 1998, in a fusion/jazz set-up he recorded “GRANDI SPAZI”, 10 original compositions and with a large musicians ensemble, with exceptional guests such as the great Danilo Rea (Italy world-wide celebrated jazz piano player) and the great Italian guitarist Umberto Fiorentino; furthermore with important and influent musicians such as Massimo Moriconi on the upright bass. In 2005 Dave’s 2nd cd as a leader is released, entitled as his new group “QUARTETTE ELECTRIQUE” with top musicians such as Pino Iodice (fender rhodes, keys), Paolo Innarella (tenor and soprano saxes) and Luca Pirozzi (El. Ac. Bass). The cd is more electric-jazz oriented, inspired by the music of the “seventies” great jazz/rock ensembles like the Tony Williams Lifetime, or the Chick Corea Return to Forever, creating a bridge with today’s actual sounds.The cd is a co-production of top Italian labels Alfa Record/Rai Trade International and distribuited by the Egea label. He is also involved as a sound engineer in his own studio management, where he recorded his solo cd’s and produces other artist’s project as well. Davide is also very active in teaching. He has been part in the last ten years of the most important music schools in Italy such as the “Saint Lous Music College” and the “Università della Musica” in Rome, appearing as a faculty leader as well as being involved in the creation of the school didactic programs. Currently he is the head of the drum faculty at the “PERCENTO MUSICA” music school, the new school of music in Rome where all the major professional musicians decided to teach together. He teaches at the “FONDERIA delle ARTI” in Rome. He is also the head master of “L’OASI” music school, always in Rome. He is the co-founder and vice-president of the first Italian Dummers Community: “DRUMMERS UNITED” . In 2005 in collaboration with Carisch, a DVD of the show “TEMPI MODERNI” (organized by Drummers United in Rome) has been released in which, besides Davide, are present some of the finest Italian drummers. In January 2006, an interview of Davide has been released on the main Italian drums magazine “PERCUSSIONI”. At the moment Davide, besides his live and didactic activities, is working at the second cd of Carolina Brandes Group, preparing his third solo project, and working on his instructional drum book entitled “DRUMS COLOURS”, that will be followed by a demonstrative DVD to support the books, with also live performances of Davide and his bands as well.
