简介
DAVY COWAN Singer, Songwriter, Guitar Slinger, Troubadour, Song & Dance Man Davy Cowan grew up in a house where Folk music & Country & Western took centre stage – with the likes of Hank Williams, Charlie Pride, The Dubliners & Johnny Cash all regulars on the turntable - His music encapsulate the essence of many of the stories and situations that have inspired him over the years: people, places, old memories, faces; Davy third album entitled; “Working Man‘s Dream” is due out this summer. The new album is produced by Martin Stephenson from 'The Daintees' - With hints of 1977 New wave/ post punk tinged with Country, Folk/ Roots, there’s plenty of light & shade. Sometimes quite mellow & plaintive, sometimes more edgy & rugged. Like, The Cars meets The Clash with a twist of Scott Walker meets Cash… Stephenson pushing Cowan all the way on his vocal delivery… digging deep, finding new directions, turning different corners…. Within a mercurial melting pot of ideas and styles, – he manages to retain an energy and spirit that’s been ongoing through the years. Martin Says... Davy Cowan is a Highland troubadour in the true sense of the word. Steeped in both counter culture and highland tradition, he is a tasteful mixed bag of New Wave creative power! Think ‘Stiff Little Fingers with a smidgen of The Waterboys, even a tad of Johnny Cash in the baritone vocal department! But most importantly Davy is an original writer and outstanding performer, whose vibrant repertoire spans some 25 years! His new album ‘Working Man’s Dream’ (due for release this summer!) is simply an awesome piece of inspired works, captured on the Barbaraville record machine! You gotta hear this guy! He’ll feel like your long lost friend, you will feel like you know him, because Davy Cowan is authentic through and through! Wonderful artist, check him out!
