More than an artist! Donta Deisel aka EQ Philly is a Philadelphia veteran in the entertainment world. With over 15 years of underground hip hop/club status, Donta is still going strong with his movement. A West Philadelphian, Donta Deisel remains strong, assured, and diligent in his endeavors to be a power house in the music and film industry. A producer, artist, and film director, Donta Deisel is the total package. EQ Philly (former pseudo name) attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia where he took up “music and video production”. That venture allowed him access to intern at Sigma Sound Studios, which was one of the major studios in the city in the mid 90’s. He had the opportunity to work with premiere Producer Scott Storch and rhyme alongside of “Black Thought” from the “Roots” crew. As a night manager at the infamous “Dances Nite Club, EQ also opened up for such acts as Wu Tang, KRS One, Biggie Smalls, Dru Hill, Jay Z, and more. After several years of local contribution to the hip hop community, EQ decided to start his own label. IlladelStyles Entertainment was established in 2001, but not fully developed. Concentrating on beats, documentaries, and video arrangement, EQ homed in his skills by helping students at John Bartram high school with their video aspirations. EQ continued to put out solo projects and landed a couple of features on local radio such as Power 99fm and 103 The Beat; known now as 100.3 The Beat. By mid 2005, EQ Philly started “illadelStyles DVD Magazine” which concentrated on giving local artists an opportunity to get recognized next to major hip hop artists in the industry. Still promoting his music and video skills, many people started to take heed to his visual arts. EQ began doing local artists video’s and gaining a reputation for a quality style. Releasing his first movie in 2007, “Rise Like Cream” showcased many well known local artists in Philadelphia. In 2009, he released “Conceled Habitat” which was nominated in the Philadelphia Film festival as up and coming director. With music, video, and film credits, EQ began managing other artists as well as getting his music out to the forefront. In 2013, Donta Deisel aka EQ Philly has songs on the radio, over 200 video’s online, and he just completed his third movie “Change The Beat” The movie will premiere in the Philadelphia Film Festival 2012. More serious than the second movie, Donta Deisel is beginning to leave the competition way behind by mastering all of the qualities needed to become a successful entrepreneur.
