简介
Suzi composes in her head. She hears melody and lyrics in anything and is inspired by everything. The test of a song to her is whether she can remember it in the morning. It doesn't make for a prolific output and if eclecticism is a bad thing then she is guilty of it. Some songs arrive ready formed with lyrics tumbling over themselves to be heard. Others take years to be coaxed, nursed and sometimes beaten into being. "Breathing Out" began with the line "You just put one foot in front of the other" complete with melody and 3 years later the song had found its feet, as it were. It wasn't an on-going process, it was a bit like checking on a cake from time to time and being mildly and pleasantly surprised to find that it had grown of its own accord. Suzi says "It is satisfying when it decides it is time to come out and that the result is better than you had hoped."
