HARDWOOD Dave Block: Lead Guitar / Vocals Michael Wrubel: Rhythm Guitar / Vocals Tom Burns: Drums / Vocals Barry Panitch: Bass Guitar / Vocals "I don't like this CD, I love it!" Jaimoe, drummer with the Allman Brothers Band. "Rarely has a specific guitar sound been recorded so right on a local recording as on Hardwood's "Say Goodbye". The sound is Dire Straights - organic yet electric..." Roger Catlin, Rock Critic, Hartford Courant, Hartford, Connecticut "I enjoyed it while cooking dinner...good songs." Jesse Colin Young. The band Hardwood, was formed in the early 1980's as a classic rock cover band. Over the years the band has added a number of original tunes written by rhythm guitarist Michael Wrubel. During the past two decades Hardwood has played many venues throughout Connecticut and New England entertaining audiences with cover tunes of bands like; the Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Grateful Dead to name a few. Hardwood also has an acoustic format with Conga's or Djembe instead of a drum kit, and acoustic instead of electric guitars. Some of the 'electric songs' translate well to this ensemble, as well as lighter fare, such as CSNY, Byrds, Beatles, and Bob Dylan, for examples. The band began recording its first CD in the spring of 2000, with producer Jim Chapdelaine in his West Hartford, CT. studio. In addition to the regular band members the CD utilizes the talents of Jon Peckman on Percussion, Jim Chapdelaine on Guitars, and Roy Rodriques Jr. on the Hammond B3. The project, Say Goodbye, was finished in early December 2001. HARDWOOD Hotline - 860-231-2311 Or on the web - www.hardwoodmusic.com
