This is the long -awaited Christmas CD by fans of New York City singer/songwriter Eugene Ruffolo. Known for his soulful and hearfelt music, Ruffolo delivers this collection of holiday music with his unique musicality, adding new life to timeless classics, and introducing the audience to a number of lesser known gems. In addition, listeners will be treated to a few Ruffolo orginals that were written specifically for this project, including the whimsical title track "Even Santa Gets the Blues", and "The Sweetest Part", which picks up where Joni Mitchell's holiday classic "River" left off- a beautiful love song written against a Christmas backdrop. A must have Cd for any holiday collection, "Even Santa gets the Blues" was recorded in Northeim Germany on Europe's most highly renowned audiophile label Stockfisch Records. The Cd features guitar work by Ian Melrose, backing vocals by Margaret Fiellin, and two previously unreleased instrumental tracks by Chris Jones, Ian Melrose and Peter Ratzenbeck.
