Mason Dixons Debut Single " Letters to Mamma" is a almost too real depiction of not only the dangers of street life but also the direct effects of those actions. He paints a vivid picture effortlessly over snappy keys and enthralling strings. As you listen to him lament to his Mother on the hook, one can almost hear the pain and the struggle to justify his actions. He is not your normal street level player though, he acknowledges that he had the power and ability to be a kingpin if he wanted to. While typically one does not think street runner and tenor, Mason's unique tone and melodious flow coupled with his uncanny ability to rhyme, any doubts of the truth of his tales or his skills as an Emcee are quickly erased. He does not fit the mold for artists coming out of his home state of Georgia recently and for that matter Mr. Dixon does not fit the mold for most ANY artist coming out in rap today. He hopes to play on listeners curiousity with his name and capture them with his skills and keep them while his brazen transparancy(the 3rd verse is a conversation from June 2008), if you can get past his name, you will see why he has been quoted as he wants to be the " line" in hip hop.
