简介

“Sentimental Mood” is a collection of Kate Reid’s favorite jazz standards and tunes. She explores the art of phrasing and improvisation while winding her way through the beautiful accompaniment of her trio. Kate sets herself apart from other vocalist/pianists with the use of her wide vocal range and instrumental approach to improvisation with lyrics and syllables. Saxophonist Ernie Watts and guitarist Ron Eschete are featured on this album along with Kate’s regular trio instrumentalists Steve Barnes (drums) and Chris Conner (bass). Her husband, trumpet player Steve Reid, is also featured on two tracks. Kate is in demand as jazz singer and pianist in the Los Angeles area. After moving to southern California in 2002, she began working with great musicians including Ron Eschete, Luther Hughes, Paul Kreibich, Scott Whitfield, Bruce Babad, Steve Barnes and Chris Conner.
