简介
Clay Edwards has been on full time staff at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City since February of 2002. Prior to finding his home on the night watch, Clay was attending Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Clay was fulfilling a dream that he had in his heart since he was young, which was to play collegiate football. He wanted to coach football in a small town in Texas. He was happy and content with the thought of coaching sports and investing in young adults for the rest of his life. Little did he know that the Lord had other plans. Within a two week period everything he had desired, concerning athletics and coaching, changed dramatically. This is when Kanas City came into the picture for the first time. Simply put, he moved there as soon as he could and jumped right into the night watch, which is where he's been since. Nine years later, he finds himself standing and praying in the night, asking for a breakthrough of power in the marketplaces, schools, streets, and cities of the earth…and ultimately, ushering in King Jesus’ return. His primary calling is to be a man of prayer. Whether it be intercession, contemplation, worship, spiritual warfare, or meditation. His desire is to dive into the knowledge of God and discover His heart and emotions through the diligent study of His written word, coupled with prayer and fasting, in order to have an alive heart that flows in the Holy Spirit’s anointing so that he can feel His heart, His emotions, His pleasure, as well as His tears. Ultimately, it is his desire to stay in the place of prayer, cultivating a heart that’s in love, which overflows with meekness, humility and Christlikeness. Psalm 27:4 “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.” excerpt from cd insert: Night and day, Jesus is to be adored and glorified among the nations. Truly, He is worthy of the unceasing worship of His people. From the rising of the sun until its setting, He is greatly to be praised. The Father Himself has promised to raise up people who will partner with Jesus and cry out for His kingdom to come—those who will not be silent through the day or through the night. (Malachi 1:11; Psalm 145:3; Isaiah 62:1) Jesus foretold a coming time of night, a time when He would be physically absent from the earth. The saints in this night season long for their holy Bridegroom with fasting and prayer. We look for and hasten the return of our Lord, waiting for Him more than the night watchmen wait for the morning. (John 9:4-5; Matt 9:15; 2 Peter 3:12; Psalm 130:6) Yet as sure as the dawn, there is coming a glorious day when the Sun of Righteousness will arise. The day of the gladness of His heart is coming, when His bride will be made ready. This is the day He will no longer restrain Himself, but take vengeance on injustice and make all wrong things right. The longing of the redeemed through history will be fulfilled when the God of glory shines forth from His throne, and we will walk in His light forever. (Malachi 4:2; Song of Songs 3:11; Isa 63:4; Rev 21:23)
