简介

EmiSunshine is a 9 Year old with the heart and soul of 100 old time musicians tangled up inside her. She writes and performs with every ounce of her being. Her influences are Buddy and Julie Miller, Emmylou Harris, Mike Farris and Levon Helm. Writing or Co-Writing 16 out of the 18 songs on this Album Emi brought an eclectic mix to fruition. She has several old time Killin' Songs and loves to spin a yarn about love gone wrong. At 9 you might think Taylor, Justin or the likes would be her influences but not so with little Emi. Emi grew up listening to everything from Tom Petty to Ralph Stanley. She is more likely to belt out a Bob Dylan Tune than a Disney teen sensation melody. Emi divides her days between lovin on her Turkeys, Chickens and Pot Belly Piggies and making music with her family. Playing more than 100 gigs last year alone Emi has a lot of experience under her tiny belt! Emi Began singing out live at 4, Wrote her first song at 5 and began playing the ukelele at 6. With this current Album you find Her tale of lost love on Little Weeping Willow Tree, her tribute to a friend in Amelia's song which was written in memory of Amelia Keown. The song White Dress was written by a family friend and after her untimely death Emi resurrected it and she and her mother added to it and it is a favorite western themed tale of love gone wrong. Matthew is a song her brother wrote at 7 and Emi took it over adding her own melody and claimed it as her own. It tells about a love between farmer named Matthew and his wife Emmy. It was loosely based on her great uncle Clinton Payne. Emi is quick to tell you she's looking for her Matthew! On Blue for you Emi got her feelings hurt on the Hopewell Church Playground and sat down on a stump and wrote about how mean the little girl was and how sorry she would be one day, at 5 she had an amazing moral compass and knew that being kind to others was something she wanted to be good at! Black Sunday '35 came about from a lesson on the Dust Bowl Emi Learned from her Mother who is her homeschool teacher. It's haunting melody came as her mother told her of the death and heartache during that time in our History. Sweet Lillie was another song written by family Friend Traci and revived and reworked. It is the story of EmiSunshine's Great Grandmother Lillie Payne Leonard. Mamaw Lillie as she was known to all worked year round tirelessly for her family. Lay Your Burdens down was written with family friend Willie Wates. he basically brought her the lyrics and said this is your song make it happen. After changing a few words and adding a melody Emi returned with song in hand and it landed on the CD. Creole Boy's came about from Emi's time in Gatlinburg over the Summer. Emi found a favorite Restaurant called New Orleans Sandwich Co. And fell in love with the owners! She decided a song about New Orleans Was in order and quickly wrote her favorite song! On her way to a show Emi began humming a beautiful melody and with mom at her side Madelyn's Hill was born! A tale of two sisters Nadine and Madelyn it's the fiddle of Ben Probus that makes an already dramatic song even more dynamic! KatieBelle was a song that Emi's mom dreamed and quickly got up and wrote. Dad and Emi worked on the melody and KatieBelle is the most listened to song of EmiSunshine's online. While loving on a new litter of baby Pigs Emi started playing a nursery rhyme on her ukelele. Hush Little Baby is not only her piggies favorite it's also the kids of the neighborhood's as well! Mary Don't you Weep is a traditional song that Emi First heard by Mike Farris and is requested frequently! Jesus Loves Mama was written by Emi and her mom after Emi wrote the first verse she said "Oh mama this one is gonna make you cry!" And it did! Emi got her first paycheck from a summer job and she had the song Money written before she had even cashed it! I appreciate What The Lord is Doing, Amen is a beautiful song written by Jeff Barbra. Jeff is a local writer and performer who Emi loves and he was kind enough to allow her to cover this amazing tune! My Time to fly was written by Emi at 5 and it describes faith as a child sees things! Finally the album contains EmiSunshine's self reflective tale of a songstress and her values! This album was a labor of love for Emi and her family! Take a listen!
