简介
In 2010, worriedaboutsatan released a single, toured Europe, then disappeared. The band, comprised of Thomas Ragsdale and Gavin Miller, started the techno project Ghosting Season in early 2011, and left worriedaboutsatan to sleep. Four years after the hiatus, the band decided to dust off some old demos in their Manchester studio, and re-emerged last year with the pulsing, hypnotic single 'I'm Not / The Next Round'. With a newly discovered sense of purpose, and a batch of brand new material recorded and assembled shortly after the single release, 'Even Temper' marks the first full length since their 2009 debut, 'Arrivals' - a record which won much critical acclaim for its slow motion atmospherics and dark, techno infused electronica. Showcasing the deep, alluring sound that featured so heavily on their earlier work, 'Even Temper' is the product of a band with renewed vigour. Utilising their amassed collection of equipment, which ranges from a vintage 808 to a shredded cassette tape deck, the record has a woozy, burnt atmosphere, with its crackling electronics and wide open, reverb drenched guitars. Taking cues from techno, krautrock, drone and even '70s prog rock, the album spans a wide range of sounds, all with an underlying thread and intensity. From the ambient, shimmering guitars that open the record, to the driving kick drums and melancholic glitched atmospheres that close it, 'Even Temper' is that rare thing: a cohesive, yet diverse piece of work
