简介

Thomas Donovan's extraordinary electronic dance Style! Thomas Donovan is a singer/songwriter, recording producer and human rights artist from Vancouver who often fuses equality issues into the radio and club tracks he creates and then equips with electrifying videos. Thomas’ music is a synthesis of electronica, big beat synth-pop, fused with luscious vocal melodies. To date, his mini-label Digital Dreams Music, has released six full album CD's, a variety of digital releases and 12" singles. His songs have also appeared on a variety of compilation CD's. His latest album titled DiVERGENT BEAT showcases a polished, remixed collection of his best. Thomas' latest recording art work is the remix and video production of his signature track, 'This Time I Feel It'. This song reflects his personal life romance experience and explores the hypnotic yet sometimes deceptive perception of love. The video for the song, recently posted on Facebook, already has over 1.3 million views. As a rights artist Thomas infuses music, events, artistic expression, colour and multimedia tools to express support for equality and people around the world, regardless of their differences. As Thomas explains, “Music is the most powerful communication tool of all. It can bridge language barriers, energize and unite people with a call to action and make listeners genuinely feel happy. It can also be designed to do the opposite. Artists and producers are responsible for the sound imagery and ideology that they project into the public conscience. What music is designed to convey can inspire actions and situations that materialize in the real world so it’s not to be taken lightly.” What Thomas' international fan base all have in common, is a taste for hyper-fluid, high fidelity dance tracks and provocative, intelligent lyrics that reflect today’s issues. Thomas even puts a famous John Lennon quote to music in one of his biggest sounding dance tracks of all, ‘Love Like Lennon’. The video, shot in Paris, London, New York, Vancouver and other cities around the world, showcases mixed race and same sex couples deeply in love and celebrating their diversity and devotion to one another. Thomas painted the huge staircase leading up to Vancouver's City Hall in rainbow colours the day before Canada legalized same sex marriage back in 2005. He was managing the Pride Week Launch event for Vancouver and wanted to make a giant and meaningful statement that communicated Vancouver's LGTBQ support. The City loved the idea of painting the ground in rainbow colours to honour the gay community and found a permanent way to express Thomas' idea with the installation of rainbow coloured crosswalks. Since then, cities internationally have followed Vancouver's example by painting rainbow colours on their walkways and street features. It has grown into a global rainbow-painting phenomenon. Thomas has also turned Vancouver same-sex rights public demonstrations into dance productions like in his radical media project titled 'What Our Love Is Made Of'. Thomas developed an interest in music at an early age by collecting hundreds of singles and mastering them by ear on the piano. Thereafter, music and life were synonymous as he discovered he could bring his own musical ideas to light using computers, synthesizers and samplers. His work is heavily influenced by European and British contemporary pop which are reflected in his own music today. Thomas enjoys many styles of music, but his favorites comprise of a modern dance beat, dramatic vocal melodies and lush, intricate sequences. Thomas' concern for the human race and a sustainable, accepting future for all, are forever reflected in his recording works. His songs 'Trust', 'Calling Around The World', ‘Love Like Lennon’ and even earlier works like 'All We Need For Christmas' and 'Colorcode' all remind us of our truest most valuable asset… our humanity.
