I often write my songs as the result of some event that sparks some deep feelings. I also write to help process issues that come up in my relationships. I don't usually feel like writing songs when things are going well and so I don't have a wealth of happy songs in my repetoir, those that I do have are usually covers. So the songs you will hear on this CD are songs that have been written at different times when I've been struggling with a rift of sorts with my spouse, parents, siblings, boss, co-workers etc. As an example Walk Away is about fall out from a deeply personal conversation with a close freind and co-worker, Rain Pours Down and Can't Change You are songs inspired by the complex relationship I have with my parents, Red Tide was written the day the Gerorge Bush Jr decided to invade Afganistan, and Time was written for a friend who was going thru a divorce. So I hope you find something on this recording that resonates with your life in some way. If not then you are probably a hapier person than I am and god bless for that.
