EDDE is a brand new flavour for the Perth music palate. Blending pop with elements of soul, funk, and R&B, EDDE’s spunky song writing is second only to her powerhouse voice. Backed by her four piece band and playing with 3 backing vocalists and a horn section in many of her live shows, EDDE doesn’t do things by halves – big band, big sound, big voice, big love. On the back of a string of successful performances over the summer, powerhouse Perth vocalist EDDE returns with her signature backing band to launch her latest single ‘Breathe’ at Babushka on Thursday 25 August. Following on from the release of her self-titled debut EP in September last year, and two recently released video-exclusive vocal looping tracks, ‘Breathe’ comes to Perth audiences as one of this year’s most anticipated releases on the local music scene. Speaking about the sound of her new single, EDDE said, “Breathe explores a slightly different sound and side of my writing that audiences might not be expecting. There are still plenty of harmonies and a big focus on the vocals but the lyrics are a bit darker than the songs from my EP. I like to think there’s a haunting quality to the track that comes across with the blend of vocals, impact of the instrumental parts, as well as a bigger ‘production’ element to the recording.”
