Across seven tracks, Distance unfolds its sonic narrative into warm harmonies, intriguing landscapes that Fatih paints with a decidedly abstract, subtle brush. The sound is more refined, with luscious atmospheres looming in the background while the center stage is often host to an intricate play of rhythms and percussion assembled with care and a painstaking attention to detail. From the sci-fi synths of 'This land is free' and 'A strange trip to the moon' to the gentler ambient-esque eeriness of 'Loner', 'Phosphene' and 'Ocean machine', down to the beautiful melodies of 'Living in love', and the heavier groove of 'Carbon walls', there is much to discover in this record, that spans a whole palette of sounds, at once diverse and coherent. Distance is the perfect music to dream to, to drive to, a record that would accompany everyday life as well as a trip to an unknown planet.
