Black Tie Event can be described as an alternative pop-punk band from Metro-Detroit, Michigan. The band as it is today was formed in late 2010. All songs on the EP were written throughout the year of 2014, except for "Not This Time," which was written in 2012. Throughout the years the band's sound has formed into what is heard on this EP. It can also be said that this EP contains an experimental song, that being "That Girl." It was originally written to be an acoustic song, but when it was brought into production it immediately became what is now the only "pop" song on the EP.
