Introduction Throughout the years, Team Skelton’s Montourage has taken many forms in different shapes and sizes. This album is the culmination of that journey. When just a teenager, Monte Skelton was writing music for many different situations, whether that be a solo project with just his computer, or an arrangement for a band. Now, these genre-crossing, unique ideas are fused with the artistic stylings of 5 incredibly talented instrumentalists and topped with the amazing, soulful voice of Monte’s wife, Shelly Skelton. Together, they make up what is now called Team Skelton. Team Skelton’s Montourage started as ‘Soul Factor,’ a small group of very young musicians that wanted to enter a high-school talent show in 2004. That one performance scored them a spot in a nearby jazz festival, and ultimately gifted them a consistent spot at a local coffee shop. For the next few years, Soul Factor not only over-packed the coffee shop, but expanded their performances around their Evansville, Indiana home and surrounding cities. During this time, there were no professional recordings made of the band- just a totally live, energy-packed interactive experience for the masses. After a brief hiatus from the performance scene in 2013, Monte decided to bring the band together again with a slightly different focus- one with more global aspirations. This album is an ambitious project for Team Skelton- all original music in many different forms. It is the hopes of Team Skelton that this music creates a story of its own in the ears, hearts, and soul of every person that listens to this album.
