THIS SONG IS AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY AS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD AT iTunes, MusicNet AND MORE! LAURA DE LEON & FILIPPO VOLTAGGIO: Laura & Filippo were working in Manhattan at the time of the 9/11 disaster. After month's and month's of mourning for our countries loss we decided it was time to BRING IN SOME JOY! That is how and why this version of "THAT'S AMORE" was created - to give back, if only for a moment, a lighter feeling in our hearts. Laura De León: Laura De León is originally from "Sweet Home" Chicago where she performed with her band in BLUES clubs all over town. She has sung professionally since the age of 14 years old. She now lives in Los Angeles as a singer/songwriter. She has done TV and Film for many years with guest spots on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO and and a role in the short lived sit-com "DADDY DEAREST" starring Richard Lewis and Don Rickles and John Leguizamo She has starred in numurous commercials including HONDA, EL POLLO LOCO and CARROWS Restaurants. She has been in numerous stage and musical productions in L.A. New York, Chicago and London. You can catch her in a "STING" music video for the song: "THEY DANCE ALONE" as well as a "ROCK THE VOTE" spot on MTV with JOHN LAGUISAMO Laura won Best Musical of the Year in L.A. for the musical production "A Twist Of Faith" at the Tiffany Theater on Sunset Blvd and had a lead role in a film that was taken all the way to the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL with RAVE reviews. FILIPPO VOLTAGGIO: "High-voltage Italiano! Filippo brings people to their feet...." - Worcester Magazine Young, eclectic, up and coming singer, songwriter, entertainer, Internet and radio host Filippo Voltaggio sizzles with high energy in his performances, personally, vocally, and musically, worthy of his "electric" last name. The Burbank Leader acknowledges "... he's setting the world of music on fire." Amici Magazine wrote of him "Filippo has created a new craze - at once satisfying the public's thirst for lyricism and melody of the classics and the rhythm and style of today." Both his debut CD, Reel Italian - Love Songs From the Silver Screen, and his second, Love In Italiano, feature some of the best Italian love songs and favorite Italian Standards which he elegantly styles and makes his own. "Love In Italiano" also features three of his original songs. As critiqued by Romantic Times, "Filippo's new CD is a perfect blend of flirty, fast-paced tempos and slow, seductive songs performed in an enchanting combination of Italian and English." Filippo's new Internet and now Radio Cooking/Entertainment/Music Show, "Filippo and the Chef," has audiences raving and they are growing in numbers across the nation on Radio and worldwide on the Internet. Visit his show at www.FilippoandtheChef.com. From America to Italy to Hong Kong and beyond, the demand for personal appearances from the stage to the big screen and radio to television, is quickening, as is media attention. On the big screen he has sung in the box-office hit A Walk in the Clouds, Europa, and the upcoming Surge of Power, due to be released in theaters Fall 2004. As an actor he has been cast in a leading role in a movie called Run While You Can, scheduled to be released Spring 2005. His many television and talk show appearances include Hollywood's number one rated KTLA Morning News, PBS, RAI UNO International, and Calabria SAT broadcasts in Italy. His music also plays on selected nationwide radio markets and he has appeared live, in-studio and on-air on numerous interviews. To see some video clips of these performances visit www.oofilippo.com. Filippo is a seven-time winner of the Sergio Franchi Vocal Competition, a NIAF and MAF Grant winner, a Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium Fellow, a nominee for Entertainer of the Year by the Southern California Motion Picture Council and a winner of the Silver Bowl Award from the International Society of Poets for the lyrics to his title song on his latest CD. He and his work have been honored with mentions in such books as famed author Richard Gruden's new book "Italian Crooners - A Bedside Companion," and a romance novel still to be officially titled and released. Comfortable making any stage his home as singer, entertainer or emcee, Filippo continues to perform in intimate cabarets as well as headlining performances on large stages with full orchestra (or big band) before large audiences. So versatile in fact, that he actually began his professional singing career in leading opera and musical comedy roles, and in 2003 premiered the role of Socrates in the world premier of the rock opera Visions by Dimitiris. He sings in several different languages including English, Italian, Latin, Spanish, French, German, Sicilian, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Neapolitan. Canada's Mirror Magazine wrote "Not just a pretty face and a beautiful voice, but a consummate entertainer, complete with an uncanny skill for storytelling, full of humor and arresting cool, calm, collected, but always sparkling, stage personality." Though often compared to Dean Martin because of his sultry baritone voice, his laid-back, easy-going personality and European sense of style, in a front-page article, The Los Angeles Daily News compared him to..., "...rising star...[Filippo] resembles a tan version of British Rock musician Peter Frampton, but sounds more like Julio Iglesias or Frank Sinatra...." Live, on CDs, Film, TV or Radio, he is always a class act and leaves his audiences energized and feeling as if he had sung from his heart to theirs. How fitting to note that his given name Filippo Voltaggio translates into "Love Voltage" or appropriately, "LOVE ENERGY!"
