Izzy Marcil grew up between Minneapolis, MN and Fargo ND. The four-hour drives gave her plenty of creative time – and she likes to think that those hours are what have made her the songwriter she is today. Though Izzy is the first musician in her family, her parents were both music lovers. Her father brought her up on bands like U2, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Counting Crows ; she began songwriting at the piano in her mother’s home in Minneapolis. Shortly after, she picked up the guitar and started using it as her vehicle for songwriting. Songwriting became something magical. She knew that it was something she wanted to pursue. Izzy majored in Songwriting at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her acoustic-driven pop songs seek to tell important stories that will empower and inspire people. Izzy can be found performing around both the Boston-Cambridge area, as well as the Midwest.
