简介
Told from the point of view of an elderly woman who is convinced her late husband has returned to claim his revenge on her mariticide, 'This Haunting' was co-written with Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything), and is part of a longer song cycle, which will be the focus of Alex Watts & the Foreign Tongue's debut album in late 2012. Having gained attention with 2011's 'Desperate Love' EP, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews and support from community radio stations throughout Australia, the new single shows a maturation and evolution from the jangly rock of that initial release. 'This Haunting''s addition of a horn section provides a much more realised sound and points towards influences such as the soul music of Stax Records and Exile On Main Street era-Stones whilst managing to come off as completely original. “If you like warm, jangly rock’n’roll with hints of folk, a bit of attitude and plenty of swagger, I suggest you have a listen to Alex Watts & the Foreign Tongue’s debut EP, Desperate Love.” - Bryget Chrisfield, Inpress, Issue 1178
