Honor the Father, The Restoration’s 7-song concept album set between the 1930s and 1960s, examines a reclusive family living on the outskirts of 1950s Lexington, SC. The community sees the family's practice of seemingly odd and violent rituals as a threat to their Christian values. In the wake of a grisly murder, a highly publicized trial forces the beliefs of the town and the family to meet face to face.

The album was recorded live by The Restoration over a weekend in May, 2012, with minimal overdubs on horns and woodwinds. Guest vocalist Lisa Stubbs joined the band for the live sessions, performing vocals for Diana Bright. The album was engineered and mixed by Collin Derrick and produced by Stephen Russ—the same team that worked on The Restoration’s debut album Constance, mentioned by Paste Magazine in their 50 States Project.
