The Sea Princess is a romantic fantasy ballet created by Kim Maselli and Eric Allaman. Eric Allaman composed the score and this ballet premiered in May of 2007 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks, California. The ballet was re-produced in May of 2014 at the same theater. The show featured 109 dancers with extremely colorful and imaginative costumes and a gorgeous set of a medieval fantasy land. The music evolves through various cultural styles and features a 65 piece orchestra featuring piano and harpsichord in the arrangements. The score is driven by beautiful and powerful melodies that capture the romantic tale of a prince in search of a princess who has been transformed into a mermaid, and only his love and devotion can break the curse and return her to human form.
