简介
Billboard called it "an outstanding collection of pop-oriented Country-rock tunes." Country Music magazine hailed it as "One of the season's out-of-left-field surprises." Available now for the first time in digital format, Richard Younger's "Blue Horses" LP was met with a deluge of critical acclaim upon its 1989 release. The original 10-song set now boasts three songs produced by New York pop artist Richard X. Heyman, the Americana of "Anytown U.S.A.," plus two more recent recordings. From the Motown-meets-country title track to the Cajun-flavored "Betty Bible," from live-in-the studio covers of "Bonie Maronie" and "Guitar Man" (both featuring the immortal guitar work of the late Paul Skelton) to the psychedelic sound-caverns of "I Can't Look at You and Breathe" and "Phantom Street," "Blue Horses" sounds as fresh as the day it was released. Spurred on by the inclusion of "I Wouldn't Have The Heart," "If I Didn't Have You" and "The Next Time Love Comes Around" (all featuring Heyman on drums and keyboards), the set concludes with the spare vocal/guitar of "Price of the Road" and "Where Did She Come From/ Where Did She Go?" Fans of pure pop and rock 'n' roll will want to saddle up and ride into the sunset with this excellent and expanded set.
