Big Band music was my starting point, and to this day, I do enjoy singing with an eighteen piece band. The music may be swing or it may be a tender love song, but my heart goes with the feeling behind the lyric. There is nothing quite like the power of a Big Band, but staying with the arrangement is required. Working with my usual quartet, or in this case a quintet, gives me the opportunity to add my own spin on the song. I like to enter the recording session as if it were a live performance where there is no second chance of re-takes. The best part of this entire experience is working with the talented musicians who accompany and inspire me.
