Born in Melbourne, Australia, Mika Ceylon first acquired an interest in music when she formed a girl group with her sister and family friend. The dynamic trio would write songs and choreograph routines to perform at family gatherings. She found music to be an escape; a calling she needed when faced with the devastating news that her mom had passed away just two weeks after her eighth birthday. From this point, Mika dedicated all her time out of school to writing songs and recording them on her computer. She would post them frequently on the website “Soundclick” and found herself at the number one spot on the online charts at the age of 14. She was approached accordingly with regular gigs around nightclubs in Melbourne, as she continued to perform vivaciously with her heart and soul. A few years forward, Mika independently released her debut EP titled ‘The Fight.’ Recognising the true power and potential of her music, she decided to take her vision to the next level by moving to New York for one year to expand her musical horizons. She is now back in the studio working on her new EP with a new sound, being released in 2015.
