Sidewalks to Stone Pony to Philly Folk Fest.. Katherine Rondeau's first concert was held on the sidewalk in front of her suburban NJ home (at the age of 10) -- and now she's all grown up and has been selected to perform at the 2015 Philadelphia Folk Festival. Featuring hand-crafted songs of love, heartache, and the simple complexities of modern life, Katherine engages audiences with her rich, soulful voice and echoing guitar. After a ten-year hiatus to pursue a doctorate degree, Katherine got wise and reclaimed her true passion -- music. In her early career she performed in a Jersey-based blues and rock band where her powerful vocals and harmonies were heard at clubs including the Stone Pony and Circle Tavern. Now an active member of the Philly singer-songwriter scene, Katherine’s strong, warm tones can be heard at venues across the region. As a Folk Festival performer she will share her original music with the region's most dedicated music fans. Katherine’s no shrinking violet –and her warm, lively personality easily connects on a personal level with audiences large and small. Katherine Rondeau’s new CD Butcher’s Daughter will be released in August.
