Union Avenue consists of members from some of Scotland's finest roots & rockabilly bands. They specialize in playing least expected cover versions in the style of Johnny Cash during his 1950s Sun Records years. This is no ordinary covers band, frontman Andrew Cardno really does sound like The Man In Black, and the rest of the guys, led by Paul Paterson (lead guitar), fuse together their musical influences and styles to create a quite exceptional sound. This is brought together perfectly with period perfect recording techniques from the safe hands of Chris Cummings at his well-known Riverside Studio. The best thing about Union Avenue is that you just can't wait to hear their next number as it's sure to be a surprise. Their cover of Motorhead's "Ace Of Spades" earned them Record Of The Week on BBC Radio 1, raising their profile enough to attract major festival bookings both in the UK and abroad.
