I was traveling by myself around Australia for six months. Enroute to a self healing workshop, 'The Journey', by Brandon Bays, I had an accident and wrapped my Toyota 4Runner 4x4 around a tree at 100ks an hour. Climbed out of the wreck unscathed. "Guess I have more to do down here." I thought. Continued on to the workshop, which was great, and ended up at a retreat near Mount Buller, where I sat meditating on a flat rock in the middle of the river for about 10 days. During that time I also went jogging and met John Firewulf, an Australian Native American shaman, who invited me to stay with him for a while. Which I did. And studied shamanic drum journeys, self healing, Reiki etc. A very healing and enlightening experience. During my stay there I produced this album from live recordings I had collected over the years. And recorded two new ones: In the Moment - Solo Grand Piano and First Takes - Magic Music by the beach. They are an eclectic selection of magic moments when good musicians listen to each other and create sponteaneous beauty in the flow. From a spontaneous composition 'Alone in the Park' to a Shamanic drum journey and Spanish guitar dream. There is even a recording I did with a Buddhist monk at Mount Takao Temple, Japan, near Tokyo, at the end of the Chuo line. The head of a Buddhist monastery in Victoria, Australia invited me after I gave him a copy, saying they use this track for meditation sometimes, and that it was 'good karma'. :) Enjoy this music with headphones on your iphone or other mp3 player. Me, I like to take a deep breath, notice the pause, and let go. - And imagine walking along an endless beach, like Byron Bay, Australia.. I'll be back.
