Valerie Coates, a professional freelance singer, began singing traditional Christmas Carols in the subway stations of New York with a friend three years ago. They formed a consortium called Train'd Singers and auditioned for the Music Under New York program. Train'd Singers can be heard at holiday time in Grand Central Station and at various subways stations throughout the city. This recording is a selection of some of the songs they perform. Valerie sings all of the voice parts on this recording because the other singers in the consortium were busy working on other projects.
