Midnight Ghost and the Mayan Calendar is an EP release to follow-up their 2010 self-titled album, God's Green Earth. Darker, heavier, and more ambitious than their previous work, Midnight Ghost pushes the envelope in every direction imaginable. John Stanek (vocals, lyrics) purposefully ignored obvious writing patterns and experimented with many different vocal styles which resulted in taking the band to a whole new level of untapped creativity. Musical mastermind Donovan Cox used the recording studio like a canvas, creating a work of art both volatile and beautiful.. melding sound with pure emotion. Above all else, the two really put their heart and soul into this project. With themes of loss, lust, and the afterlife personified through vampires, ghosts, and the devil himself, Midnight Ghost is a brilliant masterpiece. It may be less than 30 minutes long, but you will be playing it over and over again.
