It takes a lot of hard work to be recognized as a Legend in the Texas Country Music scene. Curtis Potter has truly earned that status after dedicating the last fifty years to the profession. Having started his career as a teenager in Abilene, Texas, Curtis had his own television show at the age of 15. He toured the world with Hank Thompson as his bass player and front man. He recorded some incredible records for Dot and Step One Records. He has worked literally every dance hall, school house and auditorium in Texas. His latest recording "The Potter's Touch" proves that Curtis is still singing better than ever. He went to his old friend Wilie Nelson for some great classic songs including "You Wouldn't Cross The Street To Say Goodbye" "Darkness On The Face of The Earth" "Once More With Feeling" and "Family Bible." He gave a nod to his producer Justin Trevino by doing his composition "The End" and borrowed a few lines from Heart of Texas Records staff writer Guyanne McCall in "Will Love Still Feel Like A Song" and "Will You Ever Know." One of his long time heroes Little Jimmy Dickens contributed "That's What I Do Best" for Curtis's new album. Curtis was recently Jimmy's guest on the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium.
