简介
"Rhode Island is starting to see a new movement of traditional folk, from Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons to the indie folk sounds of South County’s own Andrew Spatz. He describes his music as “acoustic music with electric soul.” Electric soul indeed, as his songs are soulful and as powerful as an electric shock! ... When playing live, he is truly an electrifying and talented singer/songwriter, beating out bass-driven rhythmic guitar lines on his lefty guitar and singing with an undeniable passion for meaningful communication with the listener. A devotee of Eckhart Tolle, His distinctly catchy tunes consist of social themes which ultimately revolve around battle within the human mind between ego & self-awareness, and the healing spirit of universal empathy, love and union. The songs are aggressive and passionate without being passive, almost anti-folk, and he certainly lets you know how he truly feels! ... Like most musicians, Spatz can be somewhat self-conscious regarding his act, yet he really shouldn’t be. This is where I ask myself how many amazing unknown musicians, artists and writers choose to leave their work on the shelf? What if shy and modest indie folk legends like the late, great Elliott Smith or the former 'Cat Stevens' decided none of his work was good enough? Spatz is an extremely talented musician, and may want to go a little easier on himself ... if he doesn’t, the music scene will end up missing out on a wonderfully imaginative voice within its wilderness." ..............................................................................................................
