简介

MEET OUR ARTISTS...PEOPLEZ CHOICE, TANEKA GRACE, AND BERNADETTE CLEARE Ears unplugged, eyes open and lips shut, as People’s Choice set the stage for a new era in Christian world of hip hop. Music fans young and old, devoured by senseless violence, drugs, and sex; which shower the music industry with death. It is time for a new message, a new direction, and a new choice: The People’s Choice. No longer drunk with their own pleasures, P.C. firmly stands in the path of renewal, ready to enlighten and educate. P.C stands for empowerment, truth, and the celebration of life. Their music consists of external war beats, along side their ear-pleasing story of the streets. This talented group: consists of 2 family men who capture the essence of a rough world, where the hardship of street life is unbearable. 3rd Rail (Kamel Bess), escaped an electrifying past filled with guns and violence, enabling him to conquer society’s stereotype. He crossed paths with Gooch (Vincent Gumbs), the slightly younger member of the group in 1999. Gooch was already part of a hip-hop group based in Flatbush, Brooklyn. These men have decided to share their responsible lyrics with the families of the world. P.C has performed at places such as the Ark, Marc Ballroom, Gospel Explosion 2004 and many other venues and left the crowd with memories of why hip-hop was invented. P.C is the strong medicine of the world, challenging people to think for themselves. Taneka Grace grew up in Southside Jamaica Queens, New York. Taneka was passionate about art since the age of 5. Taneka blossomed into an illustrator and then discovered she had another God-given gift. Around the age of 11 she developed a fanatical interest in spoken word and singing. Accepting Jesus Christ just two years later helped her to realize that spoken word was her God-given ministry. She has performed at numerous venues throughout the tri-state area including: The African Poetry Theater, Ackwaaba Café, and Gospel Explosion 2004 and 2005. Two of her performances aired on television in Brooklyn on BCAT and in Queens QVTV. Taneka also toured the United States with Prof. Ron Felder and the Voices of Inspiration appearing on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show, The Music Workshop of America, and with the New York Fellowship Mass Choir Part II. Taneka had the pleasure of ministering beside such greats as Timothy Wright, Angela Spivey, Byron Cage, and Dottie Peeples. Although all her poetry is inspired by God, she admired the styles of master poets, Gwendolyn Brooks, Robert Frost, and Walt Whitman to name a few. She uses words to paint the lives of others with words of inspiration. Taneka has been appointed by God to tell stories that encourage others to pursue greatness as she continues to endeavor this heavenly journey like rolls of thunder. “I accepted Christ when I was 6 years old and even knew then that there was an inexplicable power inside of me.” Born in the month of September in Augusta, Georgia, Bernadette Cleare is much than just another singer. She is a gifted songwriter and arranger as well as an actress. The classically trained artist has the strength of being diverse in her sound – musical theater to soul – but she is a Christian artist. At the age of 10, Bernadette took piano lessons while studying voice with the late Minister of Music Jerry Harris. She began recording at the age of 13 with Nelson Curry, Rod Rickerson, and Tony Mercedes and by 14 began songwriting and arranging. She also studied piano and voice with Alfreddie Lockhart. Bernadette produced her first song in the studio on her own at age 16. Just before graduating high school, Bernadette had the opportunity to be the featured entertainment for James Brown and his band at the Word of Mouth Café in Augusta along with her jazz teacher the late Jerry Harris (no relation to the previous; “I met two in my life”) In 1999, Bernadette was featured on the debut CD of Gerald Thompson’s Live in Chicago (Air Records) in the duet “He Will Understand.” She received a Master of Music degree from UNC-G in May 2002. More recent credits include: ministering with Kurtis Blow and the Hip Hop Church, two appearances for Gospel Explosion 2005. Bernadette is a charter member of World Changers Church New York and is a worship leader in the music ministry and has worked in the drama ministry.
