简介
After over a decade of musical collaboration, singer/songwriter Alice Fraleigh and composer/producer Peter Vantine are “Ready to Lose.” As the lyrics of the title track cry out, “I think it might be better to try and fail than never to try at all,” the songs on this album run the gamut of emotion and topic. Yet each song points to the fundamental yearning we have to inspire and be inspired – to persevere no matter what comes our way. Couched in life situations of love, loss, forgiveness, and hope, Fraleigh and Vantine bring an authentically positive message to the Pop/Rock, CCM, and Country music scene, even with a touch of Jazz thrown in to the mix. Fraleigh’s vocals add to the range of emotion, from powerful soaring lines to intimate moments that intone a very personal connection. Vantine’s arranging and orchestration expertise help to anchor the vocal production, while all being enhanced by performances from some phenomenal area musicians. Those who have followed their work will find familiar-sounding selections (similar to tracks from Out There and the One Foundation recordings) while also enjoying a few new twists. Fraleigh and Vantine both have a rich faith in God and a passion for creating new music, yet they understand the fickleness of the music industry and relinquish any notions of grandeur. Realizing there is so much more to life, valuing the process of creativity itself and sharing these songs with others is the desired outcome. “I might never get the fame, but I’ll never wonder why I didn’t play the game…” ABOUT ALICE Long, bitterly cold New England winters are the BEST! According to Massachusetts singer/songwriter Alice Fraleigh, anyway. Alice finds that sitting on a chairlift going up a mountain, and the hot showers that follow a day on the slopes, can be very fruitful if you’re a songwriter; both provide lots of time to think, and plan, and WRITE. “And, hey, I’m not that good a skier, so let’s not forget the time it takes to get DOWN the mountain, either!” Singing since childhood and picking up the guitar later on, Alice has developed her unique style by performing with several bands, performing locally at coffeehouses and singer/songwriter showcases. Since cutting her songwriting teeth, she has received national acclaim, including radio play, multiple CD recordings, and a healthy regional following. Her songs draw from life experiences, love, and faith, all filtered through a quirky perspective. I had written the song on guitar and heard what it could be in my head, but never imagined that it would turn out as well as it did! Peter’s orchestration and musicianship took Stone to a new level. I only hope that we have the opportunity to work together again very soon. I look forward to it!” – Michael Sweet, solo artist and lead singer with Stryper “[Peter is] so gifted and [has] developed into a real prolific composer. Congratulations to [Peter] on [his] accomplishments and great success.” – David Spear, film composer, orchestrator and pianist, Los Angeles, CA "What wonderful work you are doing.
