Born and raised in Holland Michigan, I grew up with a love of pop punk, along with the acoustic songs by my favorite bands. Originally a bassist, I picked up guitar a few years ago and began writing my own music in an attempt to express my feelings. This album is a story, or rather a collection of memories which revolve around a person that impacted my life in an important way. "Acquiescence" means, "the reluctant acceptance of something without protest". The theme wavers between blame and guilt, ultimately reflecting on sadness and defeat. I'll let you decide what the music means to you. I tend to dwell in repetitiveness and simplicity, as I believe music is truly beautiful when you can make someone feel like they've been in an emotional train wreck in only two and half minutes. I'm blessed to be able to have the opportunity to share my music with everyone, and as such, there are a few important people who I would like to thank. First, Jack Miller, my producer. All of the recording, mixing, and mastering is done by him. This project literally would not exist without him. Second, Emily Timmer my artist. My art is audible, hers is visible, and she used her talent to recreate my music, visually. Third, Graeme Richmond, who helped with the technical side of the artwork, including formatting and proofing. Thanks so much to you three, and everyone else who listens. I hope you enjoy this music.
