This collection of mainstream jazz standards is Lynn Stein’s solo debut. Created with her partner/collaborator bassist/producer/arranger Jon Burr, these songs are some of Stein’s favorites. Pianist Matt Ray has worked with Jazz notables such as Anita O’Day and Allan Harris. Honored in 1999 as a semifinalist in the prestigious Thelonius Monk International piano jazz competition Matt also toured for the US State Department as part of the Kennedy Center Jazz Ambassadors’ Program. Guitarist John Hart recorded as a leader for Blue Note and Concord Records and toured with Jack McDuff , Larry Goldings, and Terumasa Hino. Special guest Warren Vaché has played in a wide variety of musical settings, most notably the Benny Goodman Band, and in the house band at Eddie Condon’s. He recorded many albums for Concord, toured internationally with the Concord Super Band, and has recorded more recently for the Arbors label. Lynn’s collaboration with Jon Burr began with their eclectic duo recording “Jon and Lynn”which was soon followed by their string pop band project Giant Cicada. Jon has toured and recorded with Stan Getz, Tony Bennett, Stephane Grappelli, Chet Baker and many others. Jon and Lynn have performed in New York at The Irdium Jazz Club and Feinstiein’s a the Regency, also the festivals Jazz at Chautauqua and the Paradise Valley Jazz Party, Rockland Center for the Arts, Pomona Cultural Center as well as the Princeton Jazz Feast.
