简介
For over 15 years Eileen Howard’s performances with jazz groups, big bands, and on the stage in Ohio and New York have delighted audiences. WJZA Smooth Jazz Radio deejay, Fritz the Night Owl, described her as having "a terrific voice, fresh interpretations of well-known lyrics, and solid jazz sensibilities" when her first album "All Kinds of Weather" was released. (also available on CDBaby.com) Street of Dreams is a jubilant and eclectic mix of swing, Latin, ballads and funk tunes that reflect Eileen’s dream for hope and love in our lives and our world. This album includes two original funk tunes by Howard ("Throwing Stones" and "Rise Up and Shine") as well as her lyrics written to Rogers Grant's beautiful instrumental bossa "Miedo". Composer, jazz artist and psychologist Dr. Scott Sheperd wrote the previously unreleased "Journey With Me," a lovely bossa with a message of light and hope. Exciting arrangements by Roger Hines include a smooth grooving arrangement of "Come Fly With Me" and the hot latin version of Chick Corea's "Open Your Eyes You Can Fly". Bassist Hines, who also performs on the tune, was Music Director for Grammy Award-winning vocalist Diane Schuur for 16 years and played and toured with the late great Ray Charles for seven years. Premier pianist Richard Lopez plays on the CD and also arranged "When You Wish Upon a Star", alternating urgency with a relaxed bossa feel that breathes new life into this well known standard. Lopez toured in Latin America, performed in L.A. and at concerts and festivals around the world. Dr. Michael Cox, saxophonist with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, and Matt Wagner, a well known Central Ohio drummer, round out the fine musical accompaniment to Howard's powerful but smooth vocals.
